Cate Le Bon, born in Penboyr, Wales, is a singer, songwriter, and music producer whose work is distinguished by its originality and sensitivity. She sings in both English and Welsh. Throughout her career, she has released several albums: Me Oh My (2009), Cyrk (2012), Mug Museum (2013), Crab Day (2016), Reward and Myths 004 (2019), Pompeii (2022), and Michelangelo Dying (2025). She mixes folk, indie rock, and baroque pop with elaborate and often surreal arrangements, using synthesizers, dissonant guitars, and analog instruments. In addition, she plays an important role as a producer, collaborating with artists such as Wilco, Deerhunter, John Grant, Devendra Banhart, and Horsegirl. Her experience with carpentry, studied during a break from music, greatly influenced the creative process of the album Reward, reflecting a patient approach focused on artistic construction.

The album Pompeii (2022) was composed during the pandemic and explores themes such as memory, escapism, and compassion, with a highly textured and cinematic art pop sound. Michelangelo Dying (2025), on the other hand, reflects a phase of emotional vulnerability, addressing the end of a relationship, reconnecting with one's own identity, and inner healing. The album was recorded in different locations and its visual aesthetic was inspired by an art installation with mirrors and fabrics, symbolizing emotional reconstruction. Live, she performs with a restrained but profound presence, recognized for her artistic integrity, constant evolution, and ability to transform pain, memory, and imagination into sound poetry.
