Kurt Vile & The Violators is the main project of Kurt Samuel Vile, an American musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, accompanied by his backing band, The Violators. Kurt Vile began recording songs at home as a teenager, inspired by artists such as Pavement, Neil Young, and Tom Petty. Vile's career includes acclaimed albums such as: Constant Hitmaker (2008), whose origins date back to home recordings; Childish Prodigy (2009), his first studio work with The Violators; Smoke Ring For My Halo (2011), which brought him greater prominence; Wakin On A Pretty Daze (2013); and b'lieve i'm goin down... (2015). In 2022, he released the album (watch my moves) and, in 2023, the EP “Back to Moon Beach”.
He mixes indie rock, folk, and psychedelia in a relaxed way, with reverberating guitars, jam moments, and a reflective or even conversational vocal style. Live, he is praised for his authenticity: Vile conveys an unpretentious, almost “barefoot” presence, but with great emotional depth.
