Underworld is a British electronic music duo, formed by Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, recognized as one of the most influential names in the contemporary electronic scene. With a career that began in the 1980’s, the band has built a unique sound, marked by hypnotic grooves, expansive synthesizers, and often enigmatic lyrics, capable of creating immersive atmospheres that span genres such as house, techno, trance, and experimental music.
International recognition came with the albums Dubnobasswithmyheadman (1994) and Second Toughest In the Infants (1996), but it was with the song “Born Slippy,” included on the soundtrack of the film “Trainspotting” (1996), that Underworld became a global phenomenon. Over the years, they have continued to innovate, releasing acclaimed albums and performing live shows that combine music, visuals, and improvisation, creating immersive and intense experiences.
