Wet Leg is a British indie rock band formed in 2019 on the Isle of Wight by two longtime friends: Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers. After years of friendship and individual musical experiences, they decided to join forces to create a lighthearted, irreverent, and fun project with a strong instrumental presence. The band's name reflects the humor and relaxed approach that characterizes their work. Their music combines post-punk sarcasm with catchy pop melodies and humorous lyrics, balancing relaxation and care in the arrangements. In 2025, they released their second album, moisturizer, showing an evolution in their sound, with more prominent bass lines, more elaborate arrangements, and lyrics that mix humor and vulnerability.  

The debut single, “Chaise Longue,” released in 2021, went viral and launched the band into the limelight. In 2022, the self-titled album produced by Dan Carey reached number one on the UK and Australian charts, receiving praise and major awards, including a Mercury Prize. In 2023, they won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Performance with “Chaise Longue”, and were also nominated for Best New Artist. Combining irreverence, humor, and emotional authenticity, the band continues to assert itself as one of the most original and captivating acts on the contemporary indie scene.
