Avalon Emerson & the Charm is an evolution. Crafted during an extended break from her hectic life as a touring DJ, the album is a personal statement of intent from an artist who has long looked beyond the club for inspiration. It's also the first time Emerson has put herself, her emotions, and above all, her voice, in the spotlight.

Having spent her entire career working almost independently, Emerson purposefully sought out a small cast of like-minded artists to help her bring the album to life. The main one was the UK's Bullion, who produced the record and, more importantly, shares Emerson's penchant for shimmering pop melodies and her no-holds-barred approach to music-making. Together they managed to create a space where the artist can intimately reflect on the people and places she has loved and left behind.
